Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Engineer to lead our team in Edmonton. As a key member of our Civil team, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and managing land development and municipal civil engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee project teams and coordinate with other departments as necessary to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage complex projects from conception to completion, requiring advanced technical knowledge and leadership skills.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, municipal and utility authorities, and other stakeholders.
Project Management
  • Plan, develop, and manage civil projects, including attending and leading internal and external project meetings.
  • Engage with clients and authorities to obtain approvals for projects, and present technical material in innovative ways for review by technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Review deliverables for accuracy, and ensure all engineering work is carried out in accordance with industry standards, company procedures, and client expectations.
  • Coordinate with multiple divisions to bring a multidiscipline and holistic approach to projects, and stay current with advancements in civil engineering technology and practices.
Leadership and Development
  • Mentor, lead, and support the development and growth of new team members, and foster a collaborative, inclusive, and productive culture.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, and develop and maintain relationships with potential clients, partners, and stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Registration with APEGA as a Professional Engineer.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Civil Engineering projects, with a proven track record of developing and strengthening client relationships.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, problem-solving, mentoring, writing, and people skills.
  • Team player attitude, and the ability to motivate and lead by example.
  • High degree of motivation, strategic planning, self-starting capability, and ability to work autonomously.

  • Critical thinking skills for problem-solving, able to manage and develop business relationships.
