About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Database Administrator to join our team in Toronto, Canada. As a key member of our cloud services team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud-based database infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement high-availability database solutions on Kubernetes
  • Monitor and optimize database performance, ensuring scalability and reliability
  • Collaborate with developers to review database schema and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Provide 24/7 support for database and production issues, ensuring minimal downtime
  • Maintain documentation for disaster recovery procedures and support annual DR tests

Requirements:

  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent technical experience
  • 5+ years of DBA experience on Linux, with expertise in Postgres, MySQL, and Oracle
  • Proficiency in tuning databases for performance, availability, and scalability
  • Hands-on experience with container-based architecture and deployment (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with Elasticsearch, Clickhouse, or time-series data stores
  • Excellent knowledge of networking and cloud services (AWS, RDS, Azure)
