About the Role

We're seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Transport Specialist to join our team. As a Class 1 Lowbed Winch Driver, you'll be responsible for safely transporting heavy equipment to various work sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Loading and Unloading Equipment: Safely load and unload heavy equipment, including excavators, graders, loaders, scrapers, dozers, rock trucks, tractors, and packers.
  • Site Safety: Ensure loads are secure by utilizing chains, tarps, as required, and follow site safety rules and regulations.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Perform general maintenance and upkeep of the vehicle, including daily preventative maintenance inspections and safety checks.
  • Logistics and Administration: Maintain e-log books, field-level hazard assessments, and time sheets in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Team Collaboration: Participate in toolbox and safety meetings, and work with other team members to ensure excellent service to internal and external clients.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year operating a tandem axle winch truck, loading/unloading, and transporting heavy equipment with multi-axle (jeeps/boosters/trailers).
  • Driver's License: Valid Class 1 driver's license with Air brake endorsement; candidate must provide a clean 5-year commercial drivers abstract.
  • Heavy Equipment Operation: Demonstrated ability and experience operating winch tractor, wheeler trailer, and scissor neck trailers.
  • Industry Knowledge: Knowledge and experience with heavy equipment within the oil and gas industry.
  • Availability: Willingness to work extended hours, including weekends.
  • Safety Certifications: Possess or be willing to obtain the following safety tickets: CSTS with OSSA Regional Orientation or OSSA BSO or CSO, Intermediate First Aid, H2S Alive, Ground Disturbance II, Bear Awareness.

  • Noise and Vibration: Expect to handle noise and vibrations on the job.
  • Long Hours: Must be able to work up to 12 hours a day.
  • Remote Work: With a willingness to work in remote areas, you'll experience a unique lifestyle on a rotational schedule, with accommodation provided.

This position is based out of our Acheson or Fort McMurray yard.

Compensation

CA$46.00 per hour based on experience.
