Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Senior Electrical Designer to join our team in Calgary, Alberta. As a Senior Electrical Designer, you will be responsible for designing and drafting intermediate electrical drawings, properly sizing cables and raceways, and performing layout of electrical equipment in electrical buildings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and draft electrical drawings, including cable and raceway sizing.
  • Develop 3D models utilizing drawings, sketches, and design skills.
  • Check and navigate in the 3D models for interferences and constructability.
  • Route electrical cables in a 3D environment to generate a cable schedule.
  • Perform calculations to check allowable fill in conduits and cable tray systems according to NEC requirements.
  • Work independently with little to no supervision.
  • Identify changes in the scope of work during a small project and produce design changes as needed.
  • Meet or exceed quality and expected outcome requirements of internal and external customers.
Requirements
  • At least 4 years' experience in Design and/or Drafting disciplines with a background in electrical design.
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Drafting/Design preferred; minimum GED Diploma with drafting or electrical design training.
  • Experience utilizing 3D programs such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks or SP3D.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; fluent in English language.
