The role primarily involves disassembling, cleaning, and preparing components using mechanized devices, sand jets, glass or plastic beads, and manual handling of parts.
Key Responsibilities:• Conducts disassembly operations on non-pressurized landing gear components (excluding power steering types).
• After a visual assessment, determines the acceptance or rejection of parts for further processing on the cleaning line.
• Adjusts machinery, prepares components (masking, etc.), handles parts, fills and empties machines, and cleans components independently.
• Cleans components and rectifies visible imperfections such as scratches, chipping, corrosion, and sharp edges through deburring, polishing, or using a grinding machine.
• Executes basic operations on medium to high-value components, adhering to wide to precise tolerances for major landing gear parts and foundry components.
• Reads and interprets work instructions.
• Occasionally trains and guides peers in their tasks.
• Responsible for the quality and quantity of work performed. Reports any anomalies regarding work or safety to the supervisor.
• Maintains a clean and orderly workstation and performs preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Undertakes any other similar tasks assigned by the immediate supervisor.
• Completion of secondary education or less.
• A certain level of analytical skills and judgment is required.
