Position Overview
Strategic Risk Solutions Inc. (SRS), recognized as the leading independent insurance company manager globally, is seeking a Chief Legal Officer. This role is designed to be performed remotely and will entail providing comprehensive legal guidance and leadership to mitigate legal risks across the entire SRS organization, encompassing all sectors, regions, and functions.

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a principal legal advisor to the President and participate as a key member of the Executive Committee.
- Collaborate with senior management to ensure that leaders within business units receive timely and effective legal counsel regarding corporate strategies, operational matters, regulatory compliance, entity formation, and acquisitions.
- Drive performance metrics related to compliance, risk management, and quality assurance for the organization.
- Contribute to the overall leadership of the business as a senior executive.
- Conduct legal research, analysis, and provide advice on various operational issues.
- Lead the Risk and Compliance Committee, overseeing compliance initiatives and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Manage compliance functions, including oversight of senior compliance personnel across various jurisdictions, and provide guidance on matters such as data breach reporting and regulatory filings.
- Advise on legislative and regulatory developments affecting the company.
- Execute corporate secretarial responsibilities, including organizing and attending board and committee meetings, drafting minutes, and maintaining corporate documentation.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and other legal instruments pertinent to the organization.
- Engage in the formulation and implementation of company policies and long-term strategic objectives.
- Supervise litigation matters impacting the organization.

Qualifications
- Juris Doctor degree with a minimum of 4 years of post-qualification legal experience in the financial services or professional services sectors.
- Expertise in Regulatory and Compliance law.
- Experience in corporate transactions within a business development leadership role in the financial services or professional services industry.
- Ability to navigate cultural differences in international business environments, collaborating effectively with local management and legal counsel.
- Previous experience in the captive insurance or alternative risk sectors is advantageous.
