About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Cabinet Maker to join our team at Teknion. As a Cabinet Maker, you will be responsible for creating custom cutlists, performing precise measurements, and selecting materials required for projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret shop drawings/specifications to create custom cutlists
  • Perform precise measurements and setup machines for cutting
  • Select materials required for projects, including knowledge of raw materials and quality control
  • Inspect materials for defects and make efficient use of all materials
  • Set up and properly run stationary power tools and hand power tools
  • Interpret and review drawings and work orders generated from the planning and engineering department
  • Break out jobs by creating clean cut lists with production routings
  • Prepare parts for the finishing department
  • Mentor and provide direction to Cabinet Maker apprentices
  • Be aware of hazards when working around tools and ensure safety control measures are used

Requirements

  • Must be organized and able to prioritize work activities
  • Is inquisitive by nature and driven by the pursuit of excellence
  • Demonstrates good initiative working safely and reporting Environmental Health and Safety

Assets

  • Cabinet Maker trade ticket or equivalent
  • 2+ years experience in a wood or manufacturing shop
  • Previous experience as a machine operator
