Job Title: Surveying Branch Lead

GeoVerra is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surveying Branch Lead to join our team in Kelowna, British Columbia. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for leading and developing a growing, creative, and dynamic team of surveyors and geomatics professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead project delivery teams to deliver quality work on time and on budget.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Support operational activities and provide expert advice on land surveying and geomatics.
  • Manage day-to-day facilities operations and promote a positive workplace culture.
  • Be a performance leader and improve profitability through effective planning and scope management.
  • Support Project Managers in client and project expectations, scope creep, and scope changes.
  • Conduct regular management field observations to discuss safety with employees and ensure safe working conditions.
  • Ensure quality, safety legislation, and industry standards are met or exceeded.
  • Take action to minimize operational performance gaps and be a trusted mentor to team members.
  • Lead and assist in preparing quality proposals and participate in industry associations.
  • Be a change leader and develop engagement action plans to increase retention and reduce turnover.
Requirements:
  • Diploma or Degree in Geomatics Engineering Technology, B.S. in Geomatics or related discipline.
  • 10 years of experience in surveying and geomatics.
  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership role.
  • British Colombia Land Surveyor (BCLS) designation in good standing.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in the organization.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to support and mentor/teach other members of the team.
