Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic to join our team at BEARCAT MECHANICAL LTD. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our heavy machinery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and Repair Equipment: Diagnose and repair faults and malfunctions in heavy machinery, using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required.
  • Inspect and Maintain Equipment: Regularly inspect equipment to detect potential issues and perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting equipment.
  • Order and Manage Inventory: Order parts and materials as needed, and maintain accurate inventory records to ensure efficient equipment operation.
  • Train and Mentor Apprentices: Provide guidance and instruction to apprentices, sharing your expertise and knowledge to ensure they develop the skills needed to succeed in this role.
  • Collaborate with Team Members: Work closely with other maintenance team members to ensure seamless equipment operation and minimize downtime.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in heavy-duty equipment maintenance, or equivalent experience.
  • Specialized Skills: Proficiency in diesel engine repair, powered equipment repair, and mechanical maintenance and repair.
  • Physical Demands: Physically demanding role requiring ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs), stand for extended periods, and perform tasks that require manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
Working Conditions
  • Work Environment: Outdoors, dusty, and noisy conditions.
  • Work Setting: Heavy machinery manufacturing.
Security and Safety
  • Security Clearance: Basic security clearance required.
  • Medical Exam: Medical exam required.
  • Driving Record: Valid driver's license required.
