Accounting Technician Public Accounting Role in Oakville

We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting Technician to join our team at QY Search & Advisory in Oakville. As a key member of our public accounting team, you will be responsible for maintaining precise financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and preparing and filing various tax returns.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for clients, including transaction logging, account reconciliation, and financial statement formulation.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring prompt and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
  • Compile Notice to Reader financial statements, adhering to applicable standards and regulations.
  • Prepare and file various tax returns, including T2, T1, T3, HST, T5013, and T5018, using iFirm.
  • Stay up-to-date with current tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and enhance tax strategies for clients.
  • Act as a primary liaison for clients, addressing inquiries and delivering exceptional client service.
  • Assist clients in understanding their financial statements and tax responsibilities.
  • Aid the accounting team with diverse administrative tasks as required.
  • Sustain orderly and efficient filing systems for financial records and documentation.
Requirements:
  • College or University Education in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 24 years of experience in public accounting and tax preparation (corporate and personal) working with Canadian Controlled Private Corporations.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
  • Direct experience with Caseware, QBO, and iFirm is a strong asset.
  • Completion of in-depth tax courses, such as MTAX, or extensive tax-focused work is a strong asset.
