Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and caring Early Childhood Educator Assistant to join our team at Starting Line Childcare Centre. As an assistant to our early childhood educators, you will play a vital role in supporting the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of our young children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in Program Implementation: Support early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Engage Children in Activities: Engage children in activities such as storytelling, teaching songs, and preparing crafts to foster their creativity and curiosity.
  • Support Daily Routines: Guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
  • Prepare Meals and Environments: Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods to ensure a safe and comfortable environment.
  • Document Progress: Submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors to track their progress.
  • Participate in Staff Meetings: Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Certifications: Child development assistant (ECE level 1) certification.
  • Personal Qualities: Punctuality, dependability, judgement, reliability, team player, values and ethics, and honesty.
Working Conditions
  • Work Setting: Relocation costs covered by employer.
  • Work Language: English.
  • Hours: 40 hours per week.
