Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Stationary Engineer to join our team at Florida Crystals / ASR Group. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our industrial powerhouse, including oil/gas fired boilers, auxiliary equipment, and related systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain industrial equipment, including boilers, turbines, and HVAC systems, in accordance with established procedures and regulations.
  • Assist with power plant startups and shutdowns, and provide shift relief as required.
  • Conduct routine tests and maintenance on fire protection systems and associated equipment.
  • Participate in maintenance planning and repair of equipment, and ensure all systems are fully functional at all times.
  • Coordinate and schedule outside contractor work, and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and plant production rules.
Requirements
  • A valid Ontario Second Class Operating Engineer Certificate is required. 3rd Class Operating Engineer Candidates currently pursuing Second Class Engineer with at least 50% of exams completed to be considered.
  • 3rd Class Candidates preferred, if not, must be capable of obtaining 3rd Class Operating Engineer certificate within one year of employment.
  • Good mechanical aptitude, proficient computer skills with standard Microsoft software (Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Capable of studying and interpreting mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and automation system blueprints and maintenance manuals.
Working Conditions

The job is within a heavy industrial environment, and you may be required to work within various areas of the facility. Depending on the area you work in, the environmental conditions may be hot, cold, dirty, dusty, wet, or noisy. Safety procedures and guidelines must be adhered to at all times, including wearing personal protective equipment.
