About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician - Instrumentation Technician to join our Utilities Maintenance Team in Voisey's Bay, Labrador. This is a permanent position, working a 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off rotation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Repair, troubleshoot, adjust, overhaul, service, and maintain equipment within the powerplant, paste plant, booster station, wastewater plant, water treatment plant, and other utility facilities.
  • Perform preventive checks according to preventive maintenance plans on equipment, including surface ventilation fans, underground surface support facilities, fuel storage and loading, ship loader, pumps, conveyors, PLC's, MOV'S, LIT's, TIT's, PIT's, vibration sensors, gas detection, diesel motors, and other fixed plant equipment.
  • Complete breakdown, corrective, and minor reports.
  • Test and adjust repaired systems for proper performance and ensure that work meets manufacturer's specifications and the functional needs of the operation.
  • Adjust, repair, or replace defective parts and components of the equipment systems.
  • Conduct final inspections to ensure that work detailed on work order has been completed to meet safety standards.
  • Provide feedback improvement suggestions to the supervisor and planner and implement those that are within your ability.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in Instrumentation and Control Technician.
  • An Interprovincial Red Seal Certification in Instrumentation and Control Technician is required.
  • A Red Seal certification or active apprenticeship in Industrial Electrician would also be considered an asset.
  • 5 years Journeyperson experience in an industrial environment.
  • Previous mining and/or heavy industrial experience.
  • Demonstrated maintenance experience.
