ABOUT THE POSITION:

The Finance Division of SGS Société Générale de Surveillance SA operates as a global entity with a local footprint, delivering a consistent suite of services through streamlined processes and standardized practices. The Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team for Global Market Activities is responsible for Performance Management reporting, analysis, and secondary control over Net Banking Income (NBI), Balance Sheet, Expenses, Headcount, Budgeting, and a range of financial ratios.

We are in search of a motivated and detail-oriented Junior FP&A Analyst with at least 5 years of relevant experience to join our team. In this capacity, you will be tasked with closely monitoring and analyzing the daily P&L of Market Activities, offering insights on Risk-Weighted Asset (RWA) consumption, and ensuring precise financial reporting. Your efforts will be crucial in sustaining the financial stability and growth trajectory of the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Daily P&L Analysis of Market Activities:
    • Aggregate and relay daily results to senior management.
    • Collaborate with various stakeholders (Product control teams, IT departments, etc.) to fully comprehend the underlying business drivers and challenges affecting each desk.
  2. RWA Monitoring and Evaluation:
    • Monitor and assess RWA variances against budgets and forecasts.
    • Work with cross-functional teams to collect RWA-related data and ensure its accuracy.
    • Stay informed on regulatory trends affecting RWA production and facilitate knowledge sharing with senior management.
  3. Financial Reporting:
    • Assist in generating regular financial reports, including variance analysis and key performance indicators (KPIs).
    • Contribute to the development of insightful presentations for senior management and other stakeholders.
  4. Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Support the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes.
    • Collaborate closely with department heads to gather inputs and assumptions for financial projections.
  5. Data Integrity and Analysis:
    • Ensure the accuracy and currency of financial data in relevant systems.
    • Conduct comprehensive data analysis to identify discrepancies, trends, and opportunities.
  6. Ad hoc Financial Analysis:
    • Engage in ad hoc financial analysis projects to provide insights into specific business decisions.
    • Work with the FP&A team to develop financial models for scenario planning.
  7. Process Enhancement:
    • Participate in the improvement of FP&A processes and tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
    • Propose and implement enhancements to reporting formats and data collection methods.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience Required:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in financial analysis, ideally within the banking or financial services sector.

Qualifications:

  • Solid understanding of financial principles, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly and concisely.
  • Detail-oriented and analytical mindset, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with banking industry regulations and financial reporting standards is advantageous.

Technical Proficiencies:

  • Expertise in financial modeling and data analysis using Excel and other relevant tools.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of Business Intelligence tools is a plus (PowerBI, Tableau).
  • Experience with financial systems and software is beneficial (Essbase and Cognos).

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or Economics preferred.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT:

Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, is essential as collaboration with colleagues and partners in various regions is a regular part of this role.
