Sewak's Independent is seeking a skilled Meat Specialist to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in meat preparation and customer service, ensuring the highest quality products for our clientele.
Qualifications- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year in a similar role.
- Exposure to odours and cold/refrigerated conditions.
- Fast-paced supermarket and meat department setting.
- Prepare and clean meats for processing and cutting.
- Efficiently cut carcasses, sides, and quarters.
- Trim and prepare standard cuts of meat for sale.
- Wrap and package meats to maintain freshness.
- Remove bones and cut poultry into parts as needed.
- Accurately weigh and price meat products.
- Clean and prepare fish and shellfish for display.
- Engage with customers to sell meats and provide exceptional service.
- Supervise and train junior butchers and meat cutters.
- Prepare special orders and create attractive displays of meats, poultry, and seafood.
- Experience with band saws, manual cutting utensils, power grinders, sausage machines, and slicing machines.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Must be comfortable standing for extended periods and handling heavy loads.
- Requires strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Dependable with a strong client focus.
- Possesses efficient interpersonal skills and flexibility.
