Senior Data Scientist, Privacy Engineering

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Scientist to join our Privacy Engineering team at Geotab Inc. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the privacy and security of our customers' data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and optimize data pipelines and architecture to ensure data flows remain privacy compliant.
  • Stress-test existing privacy controls and filters to demonstrate effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Design and develop advanced encryption and anonymization techniques for sensitive data.
  • Conduct technical investigations in the event of a data incident.
  • Research and develop methodologies and strategies to encrypt and anonymize data.
  • Stay up-to-date on data privacy and protection best practices and apply this knowledge to drive innovation in our Privacy Engineering team.

Requirements:

  • 5-8 years of experience as a Data Scientist or a similar role in privacy or security engineering.
  • BS degree (MSc or PhD preferred) in computer science, computer engineering, information systems, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks, Responsible AI practices, and Generative AI privacy.
  • Thorough knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, SQL) and object-oriented programming.
  • Experience working with geo-spatial datasets and machine learning techniques (e.g., Scikit-learn, TensorFlow).
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to influence without authority.
