Job Summary

The Program Director, Psychiatric Nursing is a key leadership position at Saskatchewan Polytechnic, responsible for providing academic and administrative leadership to the Psychiatric Nursing program. The successful candidate will have a strong background in psychiatric nursing, educational management, and instructional experience in a post-secondary institution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide academic and administrative leadership to the Psychiatric Nursing program, ensuring high-quality education and training delivery.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to achieve program goals and objectives.
  • Develop and implement curriculum, instructional methods, and academic standards to ensure program excellence.
  • Monitor program delivery, quality, and alignment with Saskatchewan Polytechnic policies and procedures.
  • Represent the program on internal and external committees, and build relationships with stakeholders, including industry, accrediting agencies, and other educational institutions.
  • Manage program resources, including budget development, expenditure monitoring, and resource allocation.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and implement program changes in alignment with strategic initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Masters in Psychiatric Nursing, Nursing, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
  • Eligibility for registration with the Registered Psychiatric Nurses Association of Saskatchewan.
  • Experience in educational management/operational leadership and instructional experience in a post-secondary institution.
  • Effective instructional ability, interpersonal skills, and communication (oral and written) skills.
  • Demonstrated competence in the use of technology, including the internet, email, and MS Office Suite software.
  • Ability to function as a team member in an ever-changing environment and demonstrate valuing diversity.
