Job Title: MDRD Reprocessing Technician

Groves Memorial Community Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented MDRD Reprocessing Technician to join our team.

Job Summary:

The MDRD Reprocessing Technician is responsible for the reprocessing of patient care equipment and instruments for use in operating room, endoscopy and other patient care areas. This includes collecting soiled instruments/equipment, decontamination, inspection, assembly, packaging, sterilization, storage and distribution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect and process contaminated/soiled equipment, instruments, and trays
  • Clean and terminally decontaminate surgical instruments and other reusable equipment
  • Operate washer-disinfectors, cart washer, and sonic cleaner for decontamination
  • Assemble, inspect, and package equipment/instruments for sterilization
  • Load, unload, and monitor sterilization equipment
  • Perform and document biological testing on sterilization equipment
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Requirements:
  • Successful completion of a Sterile Processing Certificate
  • Successful completion of a Certified Medical Device Reprocessing Technician (CSA) certificate
  • Experience with medical terminology an asset
  • Minimum 1 year hospital work experience in sterile processing techniques and preparation of medical supplies and equipment
  • Knowledge of surgical instrumentation and routine infection control practices
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency (Windows and Internet)
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job
