Position: Height Safety Technician

About the Role:

Tridon Communications is actively seeking both novice and seasoned height safety technicians to become integral members of our dedicated team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Constructing and maintaining telecommunication towers and ensuring the secure installation of steel frameworks and wireless communication apparatus.
  • Executing ground procedures related to installations, including concrete foundations, alignment, and crane operations.
  • Working with various antennas and transmission lines, selecting suitable equipment for specific tasks.
  • Climbing and operating on poles, towers, and ladders or other support structures up to 500 feet high.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Mechanically or electronically inclined individuals.
  • Experience with hand and power tools and various electronic testing equipment.
  • Background in skilled or semi-skilled trades.
  • Proven history of safe practices while working at heights.
  • Experience in a highly safety-sensitive environment.
  • Physically fit, capable of lifting over 50 pounds regularly.
  • Willingness to travel across the region and beyond.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Valid Class 5 Operator's License with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass routine drug and alcohol screenings.
  • Successful completion of a basic criminal background check.
  • Current First Aid Certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Aerial Work Platform certification (OSSA accredited).
  • Certification in Tower Climbing and Rescue.
  • Confined Space Entry Training certification (OSSA accredited).
  • Fall Protection certification (OSSA accredited).

Physical Requirements:

The Height Safety Technician must be prepared to spend the majority of their workday walking, standing, and climbing. They will need to carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds while climbing and must be capable of transporting themselves, harnesses, tools, and primary rigging up telecommunications towers ranging from 100 to 400 feet.
