The Technology Regulations & Compliance Branch (TRCB) has an exciting opportunity for you. We are seeking a Quantitative Analyst to conduct mathematical and statistical evaluations and testing of intricate technologies to ensure their technical integrity, security, and operational reliability.

Reporting to the Manager, Technology Risk & Standards, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Conducting mathematical and statistical evaluations of games of chance and skill, random number generators, and system components.
  • Developing analytical solutions to complex probability challenges using both closed-form and Monte Carlo methods.
  • Designing and implementing software tools and solutions, including specialized statistical assessment applications.
  • Creating risk-based testing methodologies to uphold high standards in product evaluations and operational processes.
  • Assessing third-party testing methodologies and outcomes from a mathematical and statistical viewpoint.
  • Developing and refining risk indicators as part of a comprehensive technical and regulatory risk management framework.
  • Employing a data-centric approach to identify high-risk areas requiring assessment and providing recommendations for risk mitigation.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A bachelor's degree in a STEM field (science, technology, engineering, or mathematics), or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education.
  • Proficiency in at least one general-purpose programming language (C++, Java, etc.) and one statistical programming language (R, Python, etc.).
  • Understanding and experience with the software development life cycle, including the ability to design, implement, and maintain custom software solutions.
  • Advanced knowledge and demonstrated expertise in the following areas:
    o Randomness and Random Number Generators (RNG)
    o Probability theory
    o Statistical analysis and data analytics
    o Data visualization and dashboarding
    o Mathematical modeling
    o Risk analysis and management
    o Research and development
    o Quality assurance
    o Project management
    o Process optimization
