Position Overview

Reporting to the Vice President, Group Financial & Regulatory Reporting Manager, the Regulatory Financial Analyst plays a pivotal role in assisting with all regulatory and statistical submissions, conducting capital and scenario modeling, and managing other financial reporting tasks for the Butterfield Group.

Team Dynamics

The Finance team is integral to supporting Butterfield's operations by delivering high-quality planning, reporting, regulatory, and accounting services. This dynamic environment has a global reach, enabling collaboration with colleagues across the Bank to provide senior management with the insights necessary to assess the Bank's performance and inform future strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compile monthly and quarterly capital and liquidity regulatory submissions in alignment with Basel reporting standards.
  • Generate regulatory data to support Pillar 2 & 3 reporting requirements.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual statistical submissions.
  • Conduct quality assurance analyses on data received from various jurisdictions and departments to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and validity of financial information.
  • Assist in forecasting the capital and liquidity implications of proposed transactions, new offerings, or regulatory changes.
  • Maintain, document, and enhance existing procedures, systems, and controls.
  • Support board-level presentations, ad hoc inquiries, and analytical tasks.
  • Continuously evaluate the reporting processes and content for optimization and enhancement.
  • Assist with other finance-related responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, or equivalent) with a minimum of five years of progressive experience in the financial services sector, specifically in a financial/regulatory reporting capacity.
  • Strong interest in financial institution regulation and its interpretation.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the capability to effectively prepare and present complex data in a high-pressure environment with strict deadlines.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in accounting software, data query tools, and financial modeling applications (experience with SAP is a plus).
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
