Brandt is seeking a skilled Leadhand to join our Mississauga Construction & Forestry branch. As a key member of our Service department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring maximum efficiency and productivity while delivering high-quality repair work.
Key Responsibilities:- Coordinate and direct the workload of Service department employees to optimize performance and productivity.
- Assist in the appraisal of repair orders and participate in repairs to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Direct and assist technicians and apprentices in diagnosing machine problems and implementing effective solutions.
- Inspect and repair special tools, recommending new tooling as needed to maintain optimal performance.
- Communicate customer complaints to the Shop Foreman or Service Manager and assist in resolving issues.
- Participate in quarterly safety meetings and assist in coordinating and conducting training sessions.
- May fill the Shop Foreman's role in their absence, ensuring seamless continuity of operations.
- May arrange for and participate in reconditioning used equipment and setting up new equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- May approve the release of equipment for delivery to customers and assist in providing performance feedback to service technicians and staff.
- 5+ years' experience as a heavy duty service technician with a strong background in equipment maintenance and repair.
- Journeyman certificate required, with a Class 1 driver's license considered an asset.
- Forklift license preferred, with the ability to work multiple shift patterns and lead others effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present to groups and use standard desktop applications.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.
