The Village of Sandalwood Park is currently seeking a Casual Chef to enhance our culinary team.

As a new Chef in our Village, your responsibilities will include:

  • Upholding our resident-focused social culture and ensuring the highest standards of service.
  • Collaborating with the Village and kitchen team to cater to individual resident needs and advocate for informed dining choices.
  • Creating memorable mealtime experiences through the preparation of nutritious and appealing meals, while building strong relationships with residents and their families.
  • Adhering to meal plans based on physician directives and nutritional standards, while guiding fellow team members towards a resident-centered dining approach.

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • A diploma in Chef Training or Culinary Management from an accredited institution.
  • A valid food safety certification.
  • An understanding of therapeutic dietary requirements.
  • A passion for our objectives, Village philosophy, and the family values that define life at Schlegel Villages.
  • A respectful and compassionate attitude towards residents, families, and colleagues.
  • Awareness of the physical, mental, and emotional aspects of the Chef position.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • A Red Seal certification.
  • Familiarity with relevant policies, regulations, and best practices in the retirement and long-term care sectors.
