The Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services is seeking a highly qualified Psychologist II to join our team as a Forensic Evaluator. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting advanced and/or managerial psychological work, including conducting 46B and Chapter 55 competency evaluations, as well as violence risk assessments under 46C. You will also develop, support, and coordinate forensic psychological activities and programs, and provide consultation and training to staff and other stakeholders.
As a Forensic Evaluator, you will work under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. You will be responsible for conducting evaluations of forensic patients, developing and implementing treatment plans, and providing expert testimony to courts. You will also work closely with the psychology director and superintendent to guide the forensic treatment process and provide consultation and guidance on the appropriate application of forensic evaluations.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct 46B and Chapter 55 competency evaluations, as well as violence risk assessments under 46C
• Develop, support, and coordinate forensic psychological activities and programs
• Provide consultation and training to staff and other stakeholders
• Conduct evaluations of forensic patients and develop and implement treatment plans
• Provide expert testimony to courts
• Work closely with the psychology director and superintendent to guide the forensic treatment process
• Provide consultation and guidance on the appropriate application of forensic evaluations
Requirements:
• Master's or doctoral degree in psychology or a related field
• Licensure as a psychologist in the state of Texas
• Experience in forensic psychology, including conducting competency evaluations and providing expert testimony
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
