About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Carpentry Assistant to join our team at Calgary Railings Ltd. As a Carpentry Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our carpentry team in various construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Loading and Unloading: Assist in loading and unloading construction materials, ensuring timely and efficient delivery to project sites.
  • Site Preparation: Help prepare construction sites by erecting and dismantling concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades.
  • Mixing and Spreading: Assist in mixing and spreading materials such as concrete and asphalt, adhering to safety protocols and quality standards.
  • Drilling and Blasting: Assist in drilling and blasting rock on construction sites, working closely with experienced team members.
  • Framing and Construction: Assist in framing houses, erecting walls, and building roofs, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Cleanliness and Organization: Clean and pile salvaged materials, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Environmental Safety: Assist in cleaning up chemical spills and other contaminants, adhering to environmental safety protocols.
Support for Diverse Groups
  • Cross-Cultural Training: Provide diversity and cross-cultural trainings to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and/or refugees.
  • Youth Support: Offer on-the-job training tailored to youth, promoting skill development and career growth.

Work Environment
  • Work Term: Permanent position with Calgary Railings Ltd.
  • Work Language: English.
  • Hours: 32 to 40 hours per week.
