Salary range: $55,000 - $70,000 per annum (base salary only, excluding benefits)
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing bookkeeping support to clients, both internally and externally, using various software including QuickBooks, Sage 50, and CaseWare
- Processing transactions within integrated cloud-based systems
- Utilizing critical thinking skills to evaluate transactions and determine suitable accounting treatment
- Managing payroll for clients and related remittances
- Preparing and submitting sales tax returns
- Conducting account reconciliations
- Completing and filing Records of Employment (ROEs)
- Generating client reports as needed
- Preparing T4s, T4As, and T5018s
- Delivering accurate and timely financial reports
- Assisting in onboarding new clients and developing accounting workflows
- Providing ongoing training and support to clients in bookkeeping
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Mentoring team members to enhance their skills and foster team growth
Who is the ideal candidate?
- Graduation from a postsecondary institution; a bookkeeping diploma is advantageous
- A minimum of five years of accounting experience, preferably in public practice or with multiple clients, showcasing strong bookkeeping abilities
- Essential critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Advanced proficiency in cloud-based accounting software
- Intermediate Excel skills are required; advanced skills are a plus
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, meet deadlines, and take ownership of client work
- Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn and grow
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Strong client relations and interpersonal skills
- Supportive team player with a sense of urgency and a proven track record of achieving common goals
