Clinical Dietitian, Nutrition and Rehabilitation Specialist

Key Responsibilities
The Clinical Dietitian performs comprehensive nutrition assessments, identifies appropriate nutrition diagnoses, develops and implements patient-centred nutrition intervention, and monitors and evaluates nutrition care plans.
What You'll Do
- Utilize the Nutrition Care Process framework to carry out comprehensive nutrition assessments and develop patient-centred nutrition intervention.
- Implement and review therapeutic diet orders, design, compound, dispense, and monitor therapeutic diets where nutrition is administered through enteral or parenteral means.
- Document care plans and reassessment in patient's medical record to meet program standards.
- Collaborate with other members of the health care team on matters relating to the nutritional care of patients.
What You Bring
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Foods and Nutrition, or equivalent, from an approved University and an accredited dietetic internship.
- One (1) year of experience in clinical dietetics, with oncology experience preferred or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience acceptable to BC Cancer.
- Registrant in the College of Dietitians of BC.
- Preferably Restricted Activities A, C
You have:
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing with all levels of staff and the public.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships in an interprofessional team with centre staff, patients, and the public and external health professionals.
- Physically carry out the duties of the position.
- Perform CPR techniques.
- Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
- Knowledge of social, economic, political, and historical realities impacting indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism and accompanying reports (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.).
