Fraser Health is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide direct and indirect rehabilitation services to adults with serious and persistent mental illness. Your expertise will help individuals achieve their goals and improve their occupational performance.
Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify clients' functional capacity, occupational performance status, and environmental supports.
- Develop and implement individualized rehabilitation plans in collaboration with clients, their support systems, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Provide direct individual and group interventions to support clients in achieving their goals.
- Consult with community-based agencies to ensure clients receive the necessary support and resources.
- Participate in interdisciplinary activities, such as client conferences and team meetings.
- Act as a consultant and resource to community services providing rehabilitation services to ACT clients.
- Contribute to program monitoring and evaluation, identifying strengths and areas for improvement.
- Provide in-service education to service providers and assist in developing training workshops.
- Supervise students and provide guidance and support as needed.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university.
- Two years' recent experience working with psychiatric clients in an acute or community psychiatric setting.
- Current full registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC).
- Eligibility for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists - British Columbia (CAOT - BC).
- A valid B.C. Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle for business use.
