Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Tilesetter to join our team at Western Carpet Sales and Service Sask Ltd 1980. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tile installation and a keen eye for detail.

Qualifications
  • Education: No degree, certificate or diploma required
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year in tile setting
Work Environment
  • Conditions: Dusty worksite
  • Settings: Both commercial and residential projects
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, measure, and mark surfaces for tile application
  • Mix and apply adhesives such as mortar, cement, or mastic using hand tools
  • Position tiles accurately and apply pressure to secure them
  • Ensure tiles are aligned and straight
  • Cut and fit tiles around various obstacles using both hand and power tools
  • Fill grout into joints and remove any excess
  • Replace cracked or damaged tiles as necessary
  • Create decorative designs using mosaic tiles
  • Estimate material costs and requirements
  • Install tile strips as needed
