Capital Works Technician

We are seeking a skilled Capital Works Technician to join our team at Webber Infrastructure Management Canada Limited. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining contracted assets, including bridges, culverts, roadways, and other infrastructure, to ensure they meet the highest standards of safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities- Repair and maintain highways, roads, and bridges using heavy equipment and other hand or power tools.
- Set up and remove traffic control measures in accordance with OTM Book 7.
- Operate a range of heavy equipment, including traffic control equipment, vac trucks, boom trucks, bucket trucks, dump trucks, and excavators.
- Work with concrete, asphalt, and steel, including welding, cutting, and forming.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
- Be available for emergency rail repairs, end treatment repairs, fencing, and other emergency work.
- Work at heights in bucket trucks, scaffolding, and aerial platforms lifts.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Capital Works Foreman.
- Minimum of three years related work experience in bridge/road construction and maintenance.
- Valid G driver's license and a good driving record to drive company vehicles.
- Ability to attain a valid Ontario Class DZ license is an asset.
- Successful completion of training in traffic control methods, first aid, transportation of dangerous goods, WHMIS, and job-related aspects of Occupational Health.
The incumbent will spend time completing field work, working in a variety of weather conditions, and occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, high precarious places, fume or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and sometimes high.
The employee is required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriate to the job.
