Job Title: Senior Risk Analyst - Financial Market Risk

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Risk Analyst to join our Financial Market Risk team at Payments Canada. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing support for the Future State of Retail Batch (FSRB) project, which aims to develop and implement a new financial risk framework for the clearing and settlement of retail batch payments.

About the Role

As a Senior Risk Analyst, you will work closely with the FSRB project team, as well as other business leaders and subject matter experts, to ensure the objectives of this initiative are met. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the financial risk framework for a clearing and settlement system of retail batch payments that observes the Bank of Canada's Risk Management Standards for Prominent Payment Systems (PPS).
  • Support FSRB team members by advising on issues related to payment system financial risks and ensure the mitigation of these risks is appropriately incorporated into project planning and the deliverables of other team members.
  • Engage with Payments Canada's members on issues related to the mitigation and management of financial risks within the system, building consensus, and aligning on the activities required to develop and implement the system.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Post-secondary education in Risk, Finance, Accounting, or a related field;
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in financial risk, payment products, clearing and settlement, or a related field;
  • Knowledge of banking, financial markets, risk management, financial market infrastructure;
  • Experience supporting business and/or technical transformation projects;
  • Experience in building and sustaining day-to-day relationships and communications with internal and external partners and resources;
  • Experience preparing and delivering project-related updates to senior leadership;
  • Strong analytical skills to analyze data and other business processes to assess financial risk mitigation;
