About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Public Health Nurse to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a Public Health Nurse, you will play a critical role in promoting the health and well-being of individuals and communities across the province.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement public health programs and services that address the health needs of populations, with a focus on health promotion and disease prevention.
  • Collaborate with community partners and stakeholders to address health inequities and improve population health.
  • Provide education and support to families and individuals on health-related topics, including prenatal and postnatal care.
  • Work with the Public Health Early Years team to implement the Healthy Beginnings Program, including screening, assessing, and supporting families in the prenatal and postpartum period.
  • Facilitate a collaborative multidisciplinary approach to case management and ensure quality care for clients.
About You

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in nursing and public health, with experience in community health and health promotion. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations and stakeholders.

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in public health or community health.
  • Certificate in Public Health Nursing an asset.
  • Eligible for registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $43.57 - $54.11 per hour, with opportunities for professional growth and development.
