Job Title: Teacher On Call

Haahuupayak School, an independent school located on Tseshaht First Nation Reserve in the Alberni Valley, seeks a qualified Teacher On Call to join our team.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing quality education to elementary school aged children attending haahuupayak School. This includes delivering the current BC Curriculum to Kindergarten to Grade 7 students, supporting an intensive Special Education Program, and participating in a vibrant cultural program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality instruction to students in a safe and supportive learning environment
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the learning outcomes outlined in the Integrated Resource Package (IRP)
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback to students and parents
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide initiatives
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor of Education Degree and be a member of the BC Teachers Regulation Branch: BC Ministry of Education. A valid First Aid Certification with CPR Level B or C endorsement is also required. Experience in classroom teaching, student teaching, internship, or full-time teaching within a public or private school system is an asset.
