Key Responsibilities:

  • Design Research Strategy: Develop research strategies that align with business objectives and design principles.
  • Build Relationships: Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders within and outside of the design team.
  • Support Designers and Business Stakeholders: Collaborate with designers and business stakeholders to prioritize research activities and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Develop Research Fieldwork Approaches: Design and implement research fieldwork approaches that address business and design objectives.
  • Research and Testing: Conduct research and testing to evaluate prototypes, improve understanding of current context, and generate new understanding of changing user needs.
  • Communicate Research Findings: Communicate core themes and implications from research activities to the design team and other stakeholders.
  • Design and Facilitate Ideation Sessions: Design and facilitate ideation sessions and collaborative work activities.

Requirements:

  • Education: BA/BS degree in Psychology, Anthropology, Sociology, Information Studies, Design, Human Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in research.
  • Technical Skills: Technical understanding of design research theory and design research tools.
  • Methodologies: Working knowledge of a variety of design research methodologies.
  • Teamwork: Experience working on cross-functional teams.

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Design Thinking: Appreciation for the potential of 'design thinking'.
  • Agile Environment: Experience working within a large organization and within an agile environment.
  • Digital Product Launch: Experience contributing to the launch of a digital product.
