We are seeking a highly skilled Banquet Supervisor to join our team at the Best Western Plus Norwester Hotel & Conference Centre. As a Banquet Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of banquets, conferences, and other events. This is a dynamic and fast-paced role that requires strong leadership and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Event Planning and Execution
    • Work closely with the event coordinator to plan and execute banquets, conferences, and other events
    • Ensure that all events are executed to the highest standard, meeting the needs of our guests
  • Staff Supervision
    • Supervise and coordinate the activities of staff who prepare and portion food
    • Train staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures
  • Quality Control
    • Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards
    • Address customer complaints or concerns in a professional and timely manner
  • Administrative Tasks
    • Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage
    • Prepare and submit reports as required
Requirements
  • Education
    • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year
  • Experience
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role
  • Certifications
    • Smart Serve certification
    • Safe Food Handling certificate
  • Physical Demands
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
    • Ability to stand for extended periods
    • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
