Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Construction Labourer to join our team at Celluloseman, Inc. as an Insulator Helper. This is a permanent position with a 40-hour workweek, and we offer a welcoming work environment for newcomers and refugees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Load, unload, and transport construction materials with precision and care.
  • Perform pre-operational inspections to ensure equipment is in good working condition.
  • Read blueprints to determine work requirements and execute tasks accordingly.
  • Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades with attention to detail.
  • Assist in framing houses, erecting walls, and building roofs with a focus on quality and safety.
  • Clean and pile salvaged materials, and perform routine maintenance work to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Clean up chemical spills and other contaminants, and remove rubble and other debris at construction sites.
  • Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction, and direct traffic at or near construction sites.
  • Install vapour barriers and thermal and sound insulation to ensure a safe and comfortable working environment.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
  • Work outdoors, at heights, and in confined spaces, requiring physical stamina and adaptability.
  • Handle heavy loads, up to 23 kg (50 lbs), with ease and precision.

Support for Indigenous People
  • We offer mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers, and provide cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees.
Requirements
  • No degree, certificate, or diploma is required, but we will provide training for the right candidate.
  • English is the primary language spoken in the workplace.
