We are currently looking for a skilled Estimator to join our team at Distinctive Auto Works. This position offers competitive compensation ranging from $50,000 to $63,000, based on experience. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing customer service, preparing initial assessments, and developing repair strategies. While the primary focus is on minimizing customer effort and optimizing vehicle processing times, the Estimator will also engage in quality assurance, manage insurance interactions, and oversee parts procurement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to ensure that operational goals are achieved in a safe, effective, and ethical manner.
  • Oversee daily production, workflow, and quality assurance within the workshop.
  • Utilize the company dashboard to accurately identify and prioritize tasks.
  • Participate actively in daily production meetings.
  • Apply comprehensive knowledge of insurance policies and procedures.
  • Identify and order necessary parts through the management system after completing repair plans.
  • Educate customers regarding the claims and repair processes.
  • Maintain awareness of production timelines and communicate updates to customers as needed.
  • Provide exceptional customer service during vehicle drop-off and pick-up, including reviewing replacement and customer vehicles.
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to vehicle diagnostics and quality checks.
  • Ensure compliance with all provincial and national regulations related to health, safety, and quality standards.
  • Contribute to the objective of closing all files promptly following vehicle delivery.
  • Support company standards in safety and security.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 1.5 years of relevant industry experience, including sales, customer service, or leadership roles.
  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field is preferred; a combination of education and experience will also be considered.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Progress towards I-CAR Platinum certification is an asset.
  • Proficiency in estimating software such as Mitchell Estimating, Audatex, and ALLDATA.
  • Knowledge of ADAS systems, vehicle calibrations, and emerging automotive technologies.
  • Strong verbal, written, and listening skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior leadership and decision-makers.
  • Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Demonstrated skills in time management, problem-solving, critical thinking, and sound judgment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service-oriented mindset.
  • Proficiency in Outlook and video conferencing tools, with a willingness to learn new applications.
  • A demonstrated commitment to personal and professional development.
  • A valid class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record over the past three years.
  • Legal eligibility to work in Canada without restrictions.
