We are seeking highly skilled and experienced individuals to join our team as Snowmaking Crew Leads, Snowmakers, and Trail Groomers at the Canmore Nordic Centre Provincial Park. As a member of our winter operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of exceptional Nordic ski experiences to visitors and athletes.
Responsibilities- Lead and supervise seasonal snowmaking crews in performing snow production and related tasks.
- Implement snowmaking strategy and plan, including operation of snowmaking fan guns and air/water pole guns.
- Perform regularly scheduled maintenance for equipment, including pumps and compressors.
- Monitor and track inventory of parts and supplies.
- Support the winter grooming program through operation of snowmobile grooming machines.
- Participate in the monitoring, maintenance, and safety of all designated trails.
- Assist in the set-up, running, and clean-up of winter events.
- Experience in operating and maintaining snowmaking equipment, including pumps and compressors.
- Ability to work outdoors in the winter for long periods of time.
- Good mechanical aptitude and equipment operating experience.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to respond to public inquiries and address safety concerns.
This is a seasonal position that requires working mainly outdoors, including evening, night, and weekend shifts. All positions are contract terms.
