We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Learning Education Assistant to join our team at Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Separate School Division. As an Education Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of young children in our Early Childhood Services program.
Key Responsibilities- Assist teachers and early childhood educators in planning and implementing educational programs for children aged 0-5 years.
- Support children with special needs, including those with physical, emotional, or cognitive disabilities.
- Provide positive intervention strategies to promote social, emotional, and behavioral development in children.
- Collaborate with speech-language pathologists to provide supports and cues for sound production.
- Match activities and model appropriate behaviors at the child's functioning level.
- Assist with daily living skills, such as toileting and feeding, as needed.
- Work effectively within a trans-disciplinary team to meet the needs of children.
- Take direction from professional staff and maintain a safe and healthy environment for children.
- Post-secondary education in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Experience working with young children, particularly those with special needs.
- Ability to work proactively with positive intervention strategies.
- First Aid Training and Child Development Worker certificate (or willingness to obtain within six months of employment).
- Physical ability to engage and participate in an active Early Childhood Services environment.
