About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer Trainee to join our team at BBA Consultants. As an Electrical Engineer Trainee, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including executing detailed engineering projects, designing and reading diagrams and plans, and drafting technical documents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in executing detailed engineering projects, including design, planning, and implementation.
  • Design and read diagrams and plans, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Draft technical documents, calculation notes, specifications, and study reports, communicating complex ideas clearly.
  • Apply established work methods and improve them, contributing to process optimization.
  • Participate in project management, including execution, costs, and schedules, ensuring timely completion.
  • Attend internal or client coordination meetings, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
  • Perform site surveys, monitoring and reporting on site conditions.
  • Monitor site work, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and quality standards.
  • Help commission substation equipment, ensuring smooth operation and minimal downtime.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.
  • Available to travel across our offices in Canada.
  • Available for short-term and long-term assignments with our clients in Québec and the rest of Canada.
  • Bilingual (English and French).
  • Asset: knowledge of ETAP, EasyPower, CYME, or EMTP-RV software.
  • Asset: knowledge of HV/MV/LV power systems.
  • Asset: diploma from the Institut génie de l'énergie électrique (IGEE).
