Position Overview: The Electrician role is crucial for ensuring the seamless operation of our processing, filling, packaging, and facility-related equipment. This position involves emergency repairs, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement projects, all under the guidance of the Maintenance Team Lead.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair electronic and electrical systems within the plant and facilities, utilizing electrical and electronic schematics.
- Assist in the installation of new machinery and processing equipment, ensuring compliance with performance standards post-installation.
- Adjust and modify controls for manufacturing and processing equipment, including PLCs, HMIs, and robotic systems.
- Collaborate on continuous improvement projects, documenting issues and solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
- Participate in new installations, ensuring electrical services and equipment meet local and national codes.
- Provide training and guidance to production staff to help achieve production goals.
- Work with the Maintenance Planner to develop and update Planned Maintenance Programs for optimal equipment performance.
- Source and requisition electronic and electrical components as needed, managing spare parts inventory for reliable operations.
- Prepare material lists and perform job costing for projects.
- Support fellow maintenance team members and be available for call-ins as necessary.
- Adapt to shift assignments and provide coverage as required.
- Utilize communication networks for remote support to plant operations.
- Engage in training opportunities to maintain and enhance technical skills in the electrical trade.
- Accurately log time spent on tasks through the work order system.
- Prioritize safety in all work activities, ensuring a clean and hazard-free environment.
- Assist Engineering with capital and expense projects as needed.
- Contribute to a collaborative team environment, supporting colleagues in achieving departmental objectives.
- Fulfill additional duties as assigned.
- Participate as a member of the Emergency Response Team.
Required Qualifications:
- Valid Electrician license (442A preferred or 309A).
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proven leadership and strategic planning abilities.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally within the packaged goods sector.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with the Rockwell Automation platform is essential.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of various software applications, including Outlook, Windows, Word, Excel, SAP, and others.
