Position Overview

Thales Canada, specializing in Defence & Security, is committed to enhancing the operational capabilities of the Canadian Army through advanced Land Command, Control, Communications & Computers (C4) Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (LC4ISR) systems. Our collaborative efforts with industry partners aim to refine existing networks and applications, facilitating seamless communication among joint and allied forces while proactively addressing potential threats.

We are seeking professionals eager to contribute to the advancement of sophisticated digitized operations for the Canadian Army, both domestically and during international deployments. Opportunities are available across four key LC4ISR programs:

  • Systems engineering and integration
  • Core networking
  • Application development
  • Intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition, and reconnaissance (ISTAR)

Key Responsibilities

  • Define solution architectures that align with stakeholder expectations while adhering to standardization policies and business strategies.
  • Create architectural artifacts and evaluate resulting specifications.
  • Develop and maintain communication protocols between products based on business needs.
  • Facilitate technical discussions and resolve conflicts among contributors.
  • Generate white papers, analyses, and technical recommendations.
  • Present architectural proposals and guide discussions with stakeholders.
  • Maintain an up-to-date architectural model and document key discussions.
  • Contribute to the long-term vision and strategy for products and solutions.
  • Stay current with best practices and advancements in software systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in developing, integrating, and testing enterprise systems.
  • 5 years of experience in specifying, architecting, and designing enterprise systems.
  • At least 2 years of experience with modeling tools such as Enterprise Architect or similar.

Compliance Requirements

  • Ability to obtain a NATO Secret security clearance.
  • Eligibility for the Canadian Controlled Goods Registration Program.

Special Position Requirements

  • This is a hybrid position with standard business hours.
  • Occasional travel may be required for technical support and planning events.
