The Opportunity:

The Senior Internal Auditor role presents a dynamic opportunity that offers insights into various facets of the organization through the execution of financial, operational, commercial, and IT-related evaluations. Reporting to the Manager/Director, the Senior Internal Auditor will be instrumental in planning and executing a diverse range of operational audits and value-added consulting projects. Your contributions will assist the Audit Committee and management in assessing the adequacy of the design and operational effectiveness of the organization's internal controls, while also delivering valuable insights to enhance operational efficiency and support the optimization of Maple Leaf Foods' performance.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Internal Audit / Advisory Reviews Strategically planning and executing a variety of unique and challenging engagements within expected timelines. Clearly documenting findings in working papers and preparing draft audit and advisory reports. Actively participating in presenting engagement findings to senior management. Collaborating with senior management to ensure alignment and that action plans effectively address identified issues. Contributing to the ongoing enhancement of internal audit processes and internal control matters. NI 52- Compliance Supporting operational effectiveness assessments of internal controls over financial reporting and disclosure controls and procedures. Identifying opportunities to streamline and enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the compliance program, providing recommendations for improvement. Business Partner Cultivating strong relationships with management through collaboration and partnership. Providing timely updates and efficient execution of engagements while understanding the business area under review. Establishing a reputation as a trusted business advisor by delivering credible, timely, and relevant insights. Fostering a high-performance team culture by demonstrating a commitment to excellence and expecting the same from all team members.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of Information Technology / SAP is an asset. Willingness to travel as required. CPA, CA, or MBA is required; CIA and CISA designations are advantageous. 3-7 years of experience in audit/assurance, with a preference for internal audit experience.
