LTO Core French and EFI Prep Teacher

Job Summary:

We are seeking a qualified and experienced teacher to fill a Long Term Occasional (LTO) position in Core French and EFI Prep at St. Gregory, St. Luke, and Holy Cross schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Core French and EFI Prep to students in grades K-8 and JK/SK.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach Core French and EFI Prep to students in grades K-8 and JK/SK
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of all students
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
  • Communicate effectively with parents and colleagues
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to improve teaching practices
Requirements:
  • Basic qualifications to teach in the Primary, Junior, and Intermediate Divisions
  • French as a Second Language Part 1
  • Sound knowledge of the programs and teaching experience in the listed divisions
  • Repertoire of current instructional and assessment strategies
  • Proficient fluency in French as a Second Language
  • Knowledge and experience in utilizing student learning management systems
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment
  • Understanding of the Ontario Catholic Curriculum and effective strategies to teach Literacy and Numeracy
  • Knowledge and experience in implementing balanced literacy and the use of student data to drive instruction
  • Understanding and experience in implementing the CEFR approach into FSL instruction
  • Commitment to supporting the use of technology in instruction and learning
  • Proven ability to implement effective classroom management strategies
  • Commitment to being an active participant in the school's professional learning team
  • Willingness to actively assume extra-curricular duties
