Position Overview:
We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to become an integral part of our Rx Connect Specialty Pharmacy team. The ideal candidate will be dependable, organized, and possess excellent communication skills, enabling them to provide outstanding customer service.

Preference will be given to candidates who are proficient in Kroll Pharmacy Management Software and have experience in resolving adjudication issues with both public and private payers.

The Licensed Practical Nurse will primarily assist patients in navigating insurance challenges and available provincial/federal programs to enhance medication affordability.

Key Responsibilities:
- Administer injections or provide training for injections as required.
- Conduct TB testing as necessary.
- Communicate effectively with patients, prescribers, healthcare professionals, and other key stakeholders to support patients throughout their treatment journey.
- Verify and investigate insurance coverage and benefits for patients, including eligibility, co-payments, deductibles, and prior authorizations.
- Collect and document information from patients, caregivers, and prescribers in a clear, organized, and professional manner.
- Complete, submit, and follow up on necessary paperwork promptly.
- Liaise with private and public insurance providers to explore coverage options.
- Act as a central liaison for stakeholders such as physicians, nurses, patients, and clinics, providing necessary updates.
- Maintain the confidentiality of patient healthcare information.
- Stay informed about changes in insurance coverage and reimbursement policies, communicating these updates to healthcare providers and patients.

Qualifications:
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Experience with Patient Support Programs is an asset.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in English; French is an asset.
- Reimbursement experience is preferred.
- Understanding of provincial and private drug coverage criteria.
- Familiarity with the Special Authorization process for both public and private insurance in the assigned territory.

Technical Skills:
- Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, and internet use.
- Experience with Kroll Pharmacy Management System is advantageous.
- Ability to make decisions using sound judgment and meet deadlines.
- Accurate data collection and maintenance of data integrity.
- Comfortable working in a paperless environment.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective time management skills with the ability to multitask and adhere to deadlines.
