About the Role:
The primary duty of the Pet Care Specialist is to ensure the health and well-being of the animals in our care. Additionally, this role includes providing support to the administrative team in a professional and courteous manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean and sanitary environment for all animals.
- Ensure the kennels and animal habitats are kept in optimal condition.
- Provide compassionate care to all animals, promoting humane treatment and respect.
- Administer proper nutrition and hydration to the animals.
- Monitor the health of the animals in accordance with established policies, including administering medications as directed.
- Uphold high standards to reflect the organization’s commitment to animal welfare.
- Assist in coordinating volunteer efforts to enhance the care provided to the animals.
- Perform additional duties as required to ensure the smooth operation of the facility.
- Foster a positive and collaborative atmosphere among staff and volunteers.
Additional Responsibilities:
Support the administrative team with:
- Communication and reception duties.
- Responding to inquiries from the public.
- Processing animal surrenders and adoptions.
- Sales of licenses and merchandise.
- General office tasks and record management.
- Ensuring all interactions are conducted in a friendly and professional manner.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license.
- Demonstrated interest in animal welfare.
- Familiarity with local geography and animal care practices.
- Knowledge of various animal breeds and common health issues.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer proficiency for office tasks.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
- Completion of relevant training courses preferred.
