About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Drywall Installation Specialist to join our team at GA Drywall & Taping Ltd. as a key member of our construction team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare surfaces for drywall installation by cleaning and ensuring they are free from debris and obstructions.
  • Measure, cut, and install drywall sheets to ensure a smooth and even finish.
  • Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners and provide a durable finish.
  • Mould and install ornamental plaster panels, cornices, and trim to add a touch of elegance to our projects.
  • Position and secure drywall sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists, ensuring a sturdy and secure installation.
  • Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound to create a seamless finish.
  • Cut openings in lath for heating and ventilation piping, ducts, and electrical outlets, requiring attention to detail and precision.
  • Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages, demonstrating a willingness to take on challenging tasks.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work in a fast-paced construction environment, requiring flexibility and adaptability.
  • Perform physically demanding tasks, including bending, crouching, and kneeling, for extended periods.
  • Work in a team environment, collaborating with colleagues to achieve project goals.
  • Meet deadlines and work efficiently to ensure projects are completed on time.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in drywall installation or a related field.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks for extended periods.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Language and Work Conditions
  • Work Language: English.
  • Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week.
  • Work Term: Permanent.
