Sewing Operations Support Specialist

The Sewing Operations Support Specialist plays a crucial role in maintaining production efficiency by providing coverage during staff absences. This includes handling responsibilities related to vacations, sick leave, training for new styles, personal days, workplace injuries, and turnover. The specialist is expected to adapt to various roles as directed by the production manager, ensuring smooth operations across multiple categories.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fill in for absent team members in sewing operations for all active styles or new samples within the designated category.
- Operate as a piecework operator, accurately scanning all completed tasks under the appropriate job numbers.
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn and master operations on various styles to enhance cross-training and skill development.
- Assist in the production of pre-production samples and other necessary samples.
- Complete all assignments given by the production supervisor efficiently.
Candidate Profile:
- Proven experience with industrial sewing machines.
- Strong communication skills, capable of effectively interacting with a diverse group of operators.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and a solid understanding of apparel production concepts.
- Exceptional leadership qualities and adept problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and proactively address challenges.
- Open to floating between different operations as needed.
