About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Healthcare Planner to join our team at B+H Architects. As a key member of our healthcare architecture team, you will play a critical role in the design and delivery of large-scale healthcare projects across Canada.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning and Management: Lead the management of project deliverables, including research, planning, and design of building projects for clients, zoning and building codes, and building materials.
  • Medical Planning Expertise: Provide expertise in clinical processes across major clinical departments, including research, planning, and design of medical facilities.
  • Team Leadership: Lead the medical planning process within the design team to create department floor plan concepts reflective of operations, and mentor team members at all levels or other interested colleagues in health planning practices.
  • Client Communication: Serve as the main point of contact for the client on planning issues, and work with end users to outline process flows and critical adjacencies of clinical rooms.
  • Design and Coordination: Lead or support the coordination of all disciplines related to the building design and health planning, including preparation of health planning presentation drawings, diagrams, and narratives, as well as drawings and specification documents.
Requirements
  • Education: Master's degree in Architecture.
  • Experience: Minimum 12 years' experience in healthcare planning, preferably with large, public projects.
  • Skills: Proficiency in clinical processes across major clinical departments, clear understanding of applicable codes & building construction systems, materials, and standards, and strong presentation, communication, organizational, collaboration, and leadership skills.
