We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Nurse Care Specialist to join our dedicated care team at Mountain Lake Seniors Community in Nelson, BC.
Job Summary:- Perform comprehensive assessments and develop individualized care plans for residents.
- Administer medications and provide personal care to residents, including nutrition via gastric tube for designated residents.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team to ensure high-quality care and make recommendations for care plan changes.
- Provide work direction and oversight to staff, including assigning tasks and demonstrating work routines.
- Maintain a safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors by adhering to established health and safety policies and procedures.
- Perform nursing procedures and interventions, and monitor and evaluate their effectiveness.
- Assess and monitor residents' actual and potential strengths and limitations, including physiological, psychological, socio-cultural, and spiritual aspects.
- Based on assessments, contribute to the development and ongoing changes to individualized care plans.
- Administer oral, transdermal, intramuscular, and subcutaneous medications, including PRN medication, in accordance with organizational and pharmaceutical policies and procedures.
- Provide regular updates to the care team and family members on resident progress and care plan changes.
- Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals.
- Graduate of a recognized school of nursing.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Cultural education and experience are preferred.
- Certificate of Geriatric Nursing or previous experience is preferred.
- 1 year RN experience in Canada is preferred.
- Competitive hourly rate of $41.42.
